ELT Publications

ELT was founded in 2004 to develop high-quality English teaching materials and provide English lessons for Japanese kindergarten and elementary school children.
Our native-level English teachers from the United States, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand currently teach in more than 20 kindergartens and nursery schools across Aichi Prefecture.
We provide fun, engaging English classes supported by top-quality materials — helping every child enjoy learning and build strong language skills.

After-School English Classes (ELT)

ELT provides after-school English classes inside kindergartens and nursery schools across Aichi, offering English education to kindergarten and elementary school children.

Our lessons focus on the four core language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Children learn English in a natural way—similar to how native English-speaking children learn.

TPR (Total Physical Response)

TPR is a learning method that helps children understand English through actions and context, without translation. This allows them to learn naturally, just as they learn their first language.

For example, when the teacher pretends to swim and says “Swim!”, children easily understand the meaning. If the teacher fans themselves and says “I’m hot,” children learn the meaning of hot. Teachers and students can act out countless actions together, creating a lively, fun atmosphere—almost like a drama class.

Children hear natural English in context and develop a strong foundation for understanding everyday language.

Vocabulary Building

Strong vocabulary is essential for becoming confident in any language.

Children learn new words through flashcards and themed units such as:

  • colors

  • numbers

  • food

  • days and months

  • toys

  • animals

  • vehicles

  • emotions

  • …and more

These words become the building blocks for future conversation.

Question and Answer

Using vocabulary they have learned, children practice natural question-and-answer patterns modeled by their native-level teacher.

They begin with simple questions such as:

  • What’s your name?

  • How old are you?

  • How’s the weather?

As they progress, they learn more practical, real-life English, helping them speak confidently and naturally.

Phonics

From nen-chu level, children begin learning phonics, the same method native English-speaking children use to learn to read.

Simply memorizing letter names (A, B, C…) does not help children read. Phonics teaches the sounds of letters instead of their names.

For example:
“CAT” is read as /k/–/a/–/t/ (cat), not “C, A, T.”

English also combines letters to make new sounds, such as ch (as in chimp) or oo (as in moon).

Learning phonics enables children to read and spell words easily and greatly supports their English studies in junior high school and high school.

Fun and Games

ELT classes are lively, energetic, and fun! We use a wide variety of games—all in English—to reinforce vocabulary and expressions in a natural, enjoyable environment, including:

  • BINGO

  • dice games

  • card (trump) games

  • movement games

ELT provides customized English lessons and curriculum for morning classes (kanae) in kindergartens and nursery schools. Lessons are designed for each individual school and tailored for children aged 2 to 6 years old. Classes are usually held once or twice a month and run for 30–40 minutes, with shorter sessions for younger children.

Our native-level English teachers focus on listening and speaking through fun, lively techniques and games. Even shy children can participate and enjoy the lessons. We encourage children to develop an interest in English and begin learning from an early age.

Morning Classes in Kindergartens and Nursery Schools

ELT publishes the popular three-book kindergarten series Kindy Kids 1, 2, and 3, along with The A–Z Coloring Book and The A–Z Writing Book for young learners.

These texts are designed to help children build strong early English skills through clear visuals, repetition, and age-appropriate activities.

We also produce a wide range of fun, engaging games for kindergarten and elementary school children, including:

  • dice games

  • trump card games

  • bingo games

  • and more!

These games make learning enjoyable and help reinforce vocabulary, phonics, and communication skills in a natural, active way.
